GIVE ME A HOME, WHERE THE BUFFALO ROAM?

MY SISTER, ANN, SENT THIS TO ME YESTERDAY, AND IT MADE ME LAUGH.

I’m not going to lie; I miss home today. A house without wheels a solid structure. This feeling has come on a few times. The first time was the worse. One night, I realized we didn’t have a house to go back to, making me cry. Selling our home and everything in it was a loss in some way.

I’m a worrier, possibly because of my background and what has happened in years past. I crave stability, roots that have a chance to grow. Traveling in an RV full-time is a huge step for me in the opposite direction of where my heart wants to be. But, if I never take those steps in life, I’ll never know what possibilities are out there.

We are still in Montana, and it’s a hundred degrees outside. What? We can’t seem to get away from the heat. Cooking inside would be crazy. We don’t have any trees for shade, so the air conditioners run nonstop until the sun goes down. We have double shades pulled down on all the windows to keep it as cool as possible. Sorry, it’s like living in a tin can. It stays light out until ten o’clock, and that messes with the mind. I don’t feel like it’s time for bed until after midnight.

Life is full of ups and downs; today is a down day, a love journey or not? I’d say today is a “not” day. Tomorrow will be different; bring on tomorrow!

  1. I love you Karen Sue. Thank you for taking this journey with me. I too feel that way on those days when I call our RV home it still is strange.

      1. Hahaha-yes no sun! We’ve been rainy and cloudy here in Rio Rancho since Monday, it’s been so nice. Should start warming back up again by Thursday in the high 80°’s. Just not in the high 98°-100° anymore, thank goodness we’re passed that. Well hoping for cool and cloudy for you guys tomorrow🌥

      2. I bet you’re happy with your pool right now. The weather forecast shows no rain or clouds in Montana for a while. Thankfully, we leave for Ohio next week and then a week of vacation with two of our grandsons.

  3. Hang in there Karen, soon it will be your way of life. You have moved as much, if not more, than me. Moving to WA in the middle of a pandemic is/was not fun. I have been here a year… I miss my friends from where I use to live, including you. 😘 Hang in there!

    1. Thanks, Margie. Moving is traumatic, especially during a pandemic. Are you doing any shows with your art? I’ll never forget the day we set up for your presentation. Your art is beautiful. One of your pieces travels with us, and each time I set it up in its special place.

  4. I think you are very brave. You dare to do something different. I think the heat is messing with all of us right now. I don’t generally let it get to me but we could all use a break. You are going to have fabulous adventures and yes there will be times you don’t like but going on a journey is exciting. Besides you can always buy a house someplace down the road. Embrace the good days. Nothing lasts forever. Happy 4th of July……..
